1. **Know your Numbers.  
   **It's important for you to know how your practice is operating on a daily basis. Understand your production levels and expenses and focus on either increasing your production levels or keeping them consistent. 

 

1. **Get your Practice Appraised.  
   **It is important to know what your practice is worth prior to going to market. Work with a team who understands [practice appraisals](https://www.jpatransitions.com/dental-practice-appraisals) and will work to get you fair market value. 

 

1. **Prepare and Build your Professional Team.  
   **Prepare your CPA, attorney, broker and/or financial planners and have them work together to assist with getting you to your ultimate goal of transitioning your practice.
